Dry heat sterilization

乾熱殺菌かんねつさっきん
Dry heat sterilization is a method of killing microorganisms using heated air. Without using heated steam, this technique heats air to a set temperature and uses that air to effectively sterilize microorganisms adhering to the surfaces of tools and instruments. It is most often used to sterilize glass and metal equipment, and plays an important role in maintaining aseptic conditions. The method is particularly well suited to heat-resistant equipment and, compared with other sterilization methods such as alcohol, is characterized by less concern about residues being left behind.
