Inferential statistics
推測統計学すいそくとうけいがくInferential statistics is a branch of statistics used to estimate the characteristics and trends of an entire population from a limited set of data. By analyzing a specific sample, it is possible to draw inferences about the characteristics of a broader group. Inferential statistics employs a variety of methods, such as calculating the sample mean and sample variance and using the results to estimate the population mean and variance, and it is used in many fields. The discipline was developed by R. A. Fisher, who played an important role in laying the foundations of probability theory and statistical analysis.
