Uwanomi (upper tank outlet)
上呑うわのみUwanomi (上呑) is one of the openings on the side of a sake tank, used for putting liquid in and taking it out. The openings are arranged one above the other near the bottom of the tank. The upper one is called uwanomi, and the lower one is called shitanomi (下呑). Uwanomi is used mainly when drawing sake from the upper part of the tank, so it is useful for checking and managing the condition of the sake inside.
