Atom

An atom is a basic particle of matter, and all matter is made up of atoms. Atoms in turn combine to form molecules, which determine the characteristics of various compounds and substances. An atom consists of a nucleus at its center and electrons surrounding it, and the nucleus is made up of protons and neutrons. In the sake brewing process as well, chemical reactions at the atomic level are important. The interaction of components such as rice, water, and yeast gives rise to sake's distinctive flavors and aromas.
