Issho (一生)

一生いっしょう
Issho (一生; the source gives its reading as "issei") is a unit of measurement for sake, equivalent to 1,800 milliliters (ml). The unit is often used when handling high-quality sake, such as Daiginjo and Junmai. Because it is also said to be roughly the size of one sho (升), it is commonly used when buying large quantities of sake for the home or for restaurants, and at business entertaining and banquets. Issho is also regarded as one of the units that symbolize Japan's sake culture, and as an important element in enjoying sake.
