Tosa Sake Advisor (Tosazake Advisor)

The Tosa Sake Advisor (Tosazake Advisor) is a qualification awarded to those who have studied the knowledge and skills needed to understand and promote the rich sake culture of Kochi Prefecture. The program is organized by the Kochi Prefecture Sake Brewers Association, and over a period of about two months, participants take a variety of lectures on Tosa sake and receive hands-on training in sake tasting (kikizake). The curriculum covers the characteristics of Tosa sake, its production process, and its connection to food culture. Participants who pass the certification exam are accredited as Tosa Sake Advisors and take on the role of conveying the appeal of Tosa sake. Holders of the qualification are also expected to contribute to the promotion of Japanese food culture.
