About

Within the name 'Ranjatai' lies a hidden reference to 'Todaiji,' a playful touch we think is quite charming. Made from Yamada Nishiki, known as the king of sake rice, and polished by the brewery's own hands to a rice polishing ratio of 35%, this Daiginjo is brewed with the traditional ginjo yeast Kumamoto yeast. It carries on the flavor of 'YK35,' which was once called the 'formula for winning gold' at the new sake appraisal sponsored by the National Tax Agency. With a gentle aroma and a clear umami in harmony, its refined character is meant to offer a moment of pure contentment. We hope this bottle brings you such a moment.

The name of this sake, Ranjatai, derives from the national treasure incense wood held at the Shosoin of Todaiji. Regarded as the finest incense under heaven, it was cut by Oda Nobunaga and others.
