PAC (polyaluminum chloride)

PACぴーえーしー
PAC (polyaluminum chloride) is a type of compound used mainly in water treatment and in the sake brewing process. It is used as an aid to clarify water and remove sediment, and it plays an important role in improving water quality in sake production as well. PAC is a powerful flocculant: it binds fine particles together so that they settle, helping to achieve a clearer sake quality. For this reason, it has become indispensable in the processes that enhance the clarity and flavor of refined sake (seishu).
