About

Ryujin Shuzo is a sake brewery in Gunma Prefecture. Its name, "Ryujin," comes from the "Ryujin no Ido" (Ryujin Well), a renowned spring whose water is used for brewing. The founder of Ryujin Shuzo, Kezuka Daizen Nokami, is said to have discovered the Ryujin no Ido, a water source comparable to the Miyamizu of Nada. The water is said to be snowmelt that soaked into the ground about 300 years ago and has rested there as groundwater since. The sake brewed with this water was named "Oze no Yukidoke." Made with Yamada Nishiki milled to a 50% rice polishing ratio, this sake has a bright fragrance reminiscent of fruit, and a smooth palate that combines the lightness and elegance characteristic of Oze no Yukidoke. A well-balanced bottle that never tires, it is well suited as an everyday sake for evening drinks.
