About
Yorozuya Jozoten is a sake brewery founded in 1790 (Kansei 2) in Aoyagicho (青柳町), Fujikawa Town, Minamikoma District, Yamanashi Prefecture. The brewery stands in a place that prospered as one of the "Koshu Sankagashi" (甲州三河岸), the three river ports that served as hubs of Fujikawa River boat transport. Its original sake brand was "Ichiriki Masamune," which was later changed to "Shunnoten." In 1976 the brewery stopped using added sugars, and in 1978 it released the Junmai Ginjo "Shunnoten." Since 1989 it has worked with local farmers to grow the sake rice Tamasakae. In 2022 it completed "Migaki 40 233," a Junmai Daiginjo made with Yamada Nishiki. In 2026 it won the Highest Gold Award at the KAN SAKE AWARD. The brewery also runs a sake brewery gallery, "Rokusai."
