Teri (clarity and brilliance)
テリてりTeri is a term used in sake tasting to describe clarity and brilliance. When a sake is said to have good teri, the liquid is transparent and shines beautifully when it catches the light. Conversely, to say that a sake has poor sae (サエ) means that it looks cloudy or lacks clarity, which may affect both its appearance and its flavor. Teri is an important factor and one of the criteria used to assess the quality of sake.
