About

The name comes from Ogaki Castle, the local castle where Ishida Mitsunari, commander of the Western Army, is said to have established his base and dreamed of ruling the country before the Battle of Sekigahara, the decisive battle for control of Japan. The name also reflects the brewery's wish to pursue sake brewing rooted in Ogaki, the local community. When served warm (kan), it has a pronounced alcohol presence and a crisp mouthfeel. In 2017, 2018, and 2021, it received a Gold Award (金賞) in the Value Hot Sake category of the KAN SAKE AWARD.
