Nishinomiya-go

西宮郷にしのみやごう
Nishinomiya-go is a sake-producing district in the southeastern part of Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, and is counted as one of the Nada Gogo (the Five Districts of Nada). The area has a distinctive water source known as "Miyamizu," which provides an environment well suited to sake brewing. Nishinomiya-go was not originally included in Nadame (the Nada area), but when Shimonada was removed in 1886 (Meiji 19), Nishinomiya-go formally joined the Nada Gogo. For this reason, Nishinomiya-go holds a historically important position, and its local breweries produce high-quality sake.
