Okeuri (bulk sale of sake between producers)

桶売りおけうり
Okeuri is a form of sake sale, conducted mainly between producers, in which the sake is not bottled or packed in containers for retail but is traded in bulk as genshu (undiluted sake). This type of transaction is also called "oke torihiki" (bulk trading) and is sometimes referred to as "minozei torihiki" (a transaction made before liquor tax is paid). Okeuri is a direct method of sale between producers, and is often used when large sake breweries and other manufacturers sell genshu to one another.
