Zasshu (miscellaneous alcoholic beverages)
雑酒ざっしゅZasshu refers to alcoholic beverages that, under Japan's Liquor Tax Act, do not belong to existing categories such as sake, shochu, and beer. Specifically, it includes newer types of alcoholic beverages such as happoshu (sparkling alcoholic beverages) and powdered sake. As the name suggests, zasshu is not bound to any particular production method or ingredient, and is characterized by its wide variety of styles. This allows a range of flavors and ways of drinking to be enjoyed, and offers considerable convenience.
