About

The name of the brand comes from the origin of the place name Hirado. It is said that the island of Hirado, seen from the sea, resembled a ran (鸞), a bird said to embody the spirit of a divine being, taking flight. The island was therefore called Hiran Island (飛鸞島), and the name later changed to Hirado. The brand Hiran was named in reference to this account.
