About
Nagasawa Shuzo is a brewery in Hidaka, Saitama Prefecture, founded in 1844 (Koka 1). The brewery stands on the banks of the Koma River (高麗川), which flows down from the Okumusashi (奥武蔵) mountains. There it brews sake using good water, the harsh cold of winter, carefully selected rice, and traditional techniques. Its flagship brand is Kimigahata, and it also makes brands such as Komao and Kawaseminosato. In winter it also produces a seasonal hatsushibori (the first pressing of the season). The rice it uses includes Miyama Nishiki and Sai no Kagayaki. A directly operated shop is attached to the brewery.
