The junmai nigori style, 70% polishing and Gohyakumangoku rice point to a restrained, rice-led aroma. The description's sweet, syrupy texture suggests a full body with prominent sweetness.

About

During the Edo period, Matsui's sake crossed the sea aboard two ships, the Hachimanmaru and the Tenjinmaru. The brand Fujichitose, used since the brewery's founding, is said to have been named to pray for safe voyages before the sacred peak of Mount Fuji and to wish customers a thousand years of happiness. The nigori (cloudy) sake is popular for its sweet, silky, velvety flavor. It is a sake without any quirks that makes you want another cup. Offered as omiki (sacred sake) for the Setsubun Festival at Yoshida Shrine, where the festival originated.
