About

Specially brewed at the request of Rokuonji (Kinkakuji) Temple, this Junmai sake contains pure gold leaf. It is served at the various ceremonies held at Kinkakuji Temple. Soft and easy to pair with food, it has a clear, smooth flavor. It is recommended for celebratory occasions and for otoso, the medicinal sake traditionally drunk at New Year. Matsui Shuzo is the only sake brewery entrusted by Rokuonji (Kinkakuji) Temple with this commission. Similar products are on the market, but they have no connection to our company. Please take care. In addition to Ogonkaku, Matsui Shuzo sells a sake called Kinkaku Sanzen exclusively within the grounds of Kinkakuji Temple twice a year, in spring and winter. Because of limited production volume, it is available only at the temple grounds.
