About

In 1986, the cultivation of Yamada Nishiki, known as the king of sake rice, was revived in the rich natural surroundings of Iga Aoyama, a land of deep green forests. Kyuichi Shigefuji, the fifth-generation head of Wakaebisu, worked hard alongside dedicated local farmers to bring this effort to life. With their hopes in mind, the rice has been carefully nurtured as "Mie Yamada Nishiki."
