About

Taruzake (sake matured in cedar casks) [IWC 2019 Gold Medal Winner] Our company's Ichinose Yasufumi, one of only a handful of cooper craftsmen in Kyushu and the only one in Nagasaki Prefecture, filled sake into the cedar casks he crafted with care, and bottled it once the aroma had developed. The scent of cedar has a relaxing effect and leaves the palate refreshed. It can be enjoyed as a food-accompanying sake and pairs especially well with dishes with bold seasoning. Taruzake received a Gold Medal in the Futsushu category at the IWC (International Wine Challenge) 2019. We owe this honor to all of you who continue to support us, and we are sincerely grateful. Message from the toji (master brewer) To bring out the aroma of the cask, we kept the sake's own aroma gentle, left a hint of sweetness, and gave it firm acidity. The cask aroma is mellow, and the sake offers a clean finish to enjoy.
