About

Founded in 1877 (Meiji 15), Kunimare Sake Brewery is Japan's northernmost sake brewery. It brews with clear water drawn from the Shokanbetsu mountain range in the bitterly cold Hokkaido, and with Yamada Nishiki (a sake-brewing rice variety). The rice is polished to 50%, and this Ginjo sake is carefully brewed at low temperatures. It has a fruity aroma and a light, smooth taste.

The flagship of Kunimare, the northernmost sake brewery in Japan. Rich yet clean, with a smooth finish.
