The genshu at 19-20% with the described firm body and dry character points to a restrained, full-bodied junmai-style profile. The nama shiboritate freshness and faint moromi aroma suggest modest aroma and low sweetness.

About

Founded in 1868 (Meiji 1). After the Great Kanto Earthquake, the brewery relocated to its present site. The brand name Amanohara comes from the old local place name Tennohara (天王原), and the brewery named its sake after that name. More recently, the brewery has also focused on otsurui (single-distilled) shochu made from ingredients including sweet potatoes, a Chiba specialty, such as the Beni Komachi variety. This is a full-bodied genshu (undiluted sake) with an alcohol content of 19 to 20%. It can also be enjoyed chilled or on the rocks. Please savor the subtle aroma of moromi (fermentation mash).
