About

This Junmai Daiginjo is brewed with Gohyakumangoku, a sake rice still popular today and long associated with dry sake from Niigata. It offers a calm ginjo aroma, a smooth taste without any harshness, and a clean finish that makes it easy to keep drinking. The zebra on the label gives it strong visual appeal. The zebra (ZEBRA, shimauma), which gave this sake its name, is a herbivore that does not live alone. It forms herds and coexists, supporting one another. Eikofuji currently offers as many as 35 kinds of sake in 2023 from its muroka nama genshu series and limited pasteurized sakes alone. We believe Eikofuji is built by bringing all of these sakes together, with each one as a unit of the whole. This is also the reason for the name ZEBRA. Eikofuji, which has been supported by its customers, pursues the many-sided appeal of distinctive sake rice and various yeasts. The name was chosen in the hope that more customers will rediscover the appeal of Gohyakumangoku, one of the sakes brewed in that pursuit. We hope you will enjoy Eikofuji at winter gatherings, where many feelings arise. Rather than judging in terms of black or white, such as "this is good, that is bad," we hope you will embrace a free attitude of "both white and black." Nothing would make us happier.
