About

Hase Shokichi, long regarded as the foremost of the Noto toji (master brewers from Noto) known as the Four Heavenly Kings, served as toji of Doi Shuzojo for 40 years from 1968. He passed away in 2009 at the age of 77 (1932 to 2009). Today, sake bearing a toji's name is no longer rare, but this 'Kaiun Daiginjo Den Hase Shokichi' is said to be the first sake to carry the name of a toji. One sip releases a rush of umami, and a smile comes naturally.
