About

Made with 100% Yamada Nishiki rice grown in Hyogo Prefecture, this sake is generously polished to a rice polishing ratio of 40%. "Maruo" was a brand used from the mid-Meiji to the early Showa period. It was revived in 2006 (Heisei 18) and, as before, is sold exclusively within Gifu Prefecture. Refined ginjo aroma, a gentle spread of umami, a light acidity that gives a refreshing, clean finish, and an elegant lingering aftertaste. It pairs well not only with Japanese cuisine but also with French and Italian dishes.
