About
Nanbu Bijin is a sake brewery founded in 1902 (Meiji 35) in Ninohe, Iwate Prefecture. It brews with subterranean water from Orizume-Basenkyo Prefectural Natural Park (折爪馬仙峡). In addition to sake, the brewery produces umeshu (plum wine) with no added sugar (Mutenka), as well as craft gin and vodka. Its Junmai Daiginjo took first place in the Junmai Daiginjo category at SAKE COMPETITION 2018, and its Tokubetsu Junmai won the Champion Sake title at IWC 2017. The brewery now exports to 21 countries and is well regarded overseas. It operates two breweries: the Head Office Brewery (Honsha Kura) and the Basenkyo Brewery (Basenkyo Kura)."}
